Where do Rates Come from? Part I

Harry gives an introduction to interest rates and a basic explanation of how to understand the various interest rate levels you might get from your bank. This could be useful when making basic decisions on deposit and borrowing. Harry goes through some basic maths and explains the difference between zero rates, forward rates, and discount factors.

VAR is something that Banks and Asset Managers especially have focussed on to identify Risk in Trading Books and Investment Portfolios.

More and more, you also see Brokers offering Retail Investors a way to look at portfolio risk using VAR.

Please note, that the spreadsheet we have created is not available to everyone, it will be only available to Students of the O3C academy. We hope you can understand why. Nevertheless, the videos explain the calculations in some detail so that you might want to create your own spreadsheet.
